Petition to Reject Clemency and Enforce Maximum Sentence for CDL Driver Who Killed 3 Floridians

Petition to Reject Clemency and Enforce Maximum Sentence for CDL Driver Who Killed 3 Floridians
Community in Florida, United states

Florida is still grieving the tragic loss of three innocent lives — lives cut short by the reckless actions of an unqualified CDL truck driver who had no business being on the road. This crash was not a simple “mistake” or minor accident. It was an act of gross negligence, and the consequences were permanent. Three families were shattered in an instant.

Yet despite this devastation, international lobbying groups are now circulating petitions demanding that this driver’s sentence be reduced. They are asking for “compassion,” even suggesting community service for three murders. Some of these petitions already boast over a million signatures — many coming from overseas, from people with no connection to the victims, no ties to Florida, and no stake in our justice system.

This is an insult. It dishonors the lives of those who died, disrespects the families left behind, and undermines the very foundation of justice in our state. Florida’s laws must not be bent by outside influence. Justice cannot be replaced with sympathy campaigns orchestrated online.

When three people die because of someone’s reckless driving, the punishment must reflect the seriousness of the crime. A reduced sentence, parole, or clemency would send a dangerous message — that lives lost can be negotiated away, that Florida is willing to ignore the voices of its own people in favor of outside pressure.

We, the undersigned, demand that:

  1. Governor Ron DeSantis and the Florida Board of Executive Clemency reject all calls for clemency or reduced sentencing in this case.
  2. The maximum possible sentence under Florida law be enforced and upheld, without exceptions.
  3. Florida stand firmly with the victims and their families, not with reckless drivers who destroy lives.

This is not about vengeance. It is about accountability. Three innocent Floridians are dead. Their families will never see them again. Justice demands the strongest possible sentence, not a watered-down punishment.

Florida must send a clear message: if you take lives through negligence, you will face the full weight of the law.

✍️ Sign this petition to ensure justice for the victims, dignity for their families, and accountability for those who endanger lives.

Letter to
President Donald J. Trump
Governor Ron DeSantis
Florida Board of Executive Clemency

Dear Sir/Madam,

We, the undersigned, are writing to express our deep concern regarding efforts to commute or reduce the sentence of the truck driver responsible for the deaths of three Floridians in a fatal crash.

This case is not about politics or international campaigns. It is about justice. Three innocent lives were lost due to reckless driving. To consider clemency, parole, or a reduced sentence is to minimize the value of those lives and the grief of their families.

We respectfully urge you to:

  • Reject all petitions for clemency, commutation, or leniency in this case.

  • Enforce the maximum possible sentence allowed under Florida law.

  • Affirm the principle that justice for victims must always outweigh outside pressure or sympathy campaigns.

Anything less would set a dangerous precedent and undermine faith in Florida’s justice system. The families of the victims — and the people of Florida — deserve nothing less than full accountability.

Sincerely,
