The Issue
On July 14, 2025, Officer Holly Hunter Romero initiated a traffic stop on a driver who was speeding with flashers on. The reason? Their beloved dog was dying, and they were rushing to an emergency veterinarian.
When the driver finally pulled into the vet’s office, instead of showing compassion or professionalism, Officer Romero immediately escalated the situation. Witnesses report that she screamed, cursed at the driver, and used unnecessary physical force—all while the owner desperately tried to explain they were in a life-or-death race to save their dog.
This was an abuse of power. The driver posed no threat. They were not reckless—they were heartbroken and doing everything possible to save a family member. A police officer’s duty is to protect and serve, not intimidate and harm.
Our Demand
We call on Arkansas Governor Sarah Sanders and state authorities to:
- Immediately investigate Officer Holly Hunter Romero’s conduct.
- Terminate her employment if the allegations are confirmed.
- Ensure accountability so that no citizen has to fear mistreatment when they are in crisis.
Public trust in law enforcement depends on officers showing restraint, professionalism, and compassion—especially in moments of emergency. Officer Romero’s conduct demonstrates the opposite.
No one should be treated with hostility and aggression when rushing to save a life. Abuse of authority cannot be ignored.

If she can’t handle a situation like this, she isn’t probably prepared for any actual police work.
She is a power hungry, nasty and horrible person. People like her should not be in law enforcement. To think she couldn’t understand what was going on. I would have done the same thing. Fire her or at least make her life miserable.
She was not warranted in arresting that poor woman. She should have been supportive. She is not fit for police work.
